“FRINGED” with Jill Alexander Designs at PNO 2015

The casual and effortless grace of the “Jill Alexander” woman is easily attainable with her new collection seen at PNO 2015.  The soft color palette and luxe stretch fabrics were eye candy.  Her use of purple to accent her lighter pieces were perfect to fight the upcoming winter doldrums.  Her fringe technique on her skirts and dresses were on trend and are perfect for the curvy woman, who can carry off a little more than a smaller body type.   The lovely, Jeannie Ferguson started the showcase off with the ivory fringed sheath, perfect for the holidays or an evening out.  Nicole Zepeda and Ariella Vazquez were graceful ballerinas in their ballet inspired wrap dresses and soft, neutral color palettes.  The ‘piece de resistance’, was Vicky Poole in the beautifully designed gold print finale dress.  Perfect for the holidays!  This collection just might get me through winter while I’m “California dreaming”.

A “TRU LUXE” Collection by TRU DIVA Designs for NYFW Plus Night Out 2015

TRU DIVA DESIGNS by Veronica Lipscomb graced the Plus Night Out runway 9/17/15 for the second time in two years.

This year’s TRU DIVA collection included textured and luxe fabrics to compliment every curve.  My favorites were the naval inspired hi-low ivory jacket with gold button accents, worn by Jeannie Ferguson and the knit body-con maxi dress worn by Sommer Green.  I can see myself wearing it with cowboy boots for day wear or with heels for an evening affair.  Perfect for day to night.  Any woman wearing her dresses will feel like they’re on a runway.  Placing my order tonight!

New Jersey Full Figured Fashion Week Delivers!

Music, fashion, great food and champagne were just a part of New Jersey Full Figured Fashion Week.  Body Positivity was felt throughout the weekend!  Paula Michelle of Nfinite Form and Wunderlich Inc. promised a great event and they delivered.

I have to say, I almost forgot that I was there as media.  In every event, I was having such a great time conversing with attendees and seeing the celebs that I almost forgot to take pictures.  Gabi from Gabi Fresh, Chenese Lewis, Toccara Jones, Lamar Rucker, Tiffany Banks from Big Sexy…were celeb sightings in just one day!

I am posting the best pics that I have so far.  Let’s start with the man candy!

Lammar Rucker of Tyler Perry Productions and host of NJFFFW Model Search

Darin Henson of Soul Food and choreographer to the stars hosted ‘Celebrity Zumba’.

I had to give you at least three different angles of Mr. Henson.

Stay tuned for more pics…too many to share at once!

Curvysta at Full Figure Fashion Week

It’s nice to catch my breath and be able to finally write about my experience.  It’s two months after FFF Week, but feels like it just happened yesterday.  It was a great learning experience, even though I’ve produced shows for years, it’s still not the same when you are the designer.  All you pray for is that people understand and capture what’s been in your mind for years.  It doesn’t always translate easily from brain to fabric.  I was asked regularly what was the theme of my collection.  I didn’t have one.  What was I inspired by?  Beautiful, sexy, elegant women that wanted statement pieces.  I designed pieces I wanted in my closet and that I would actually wear.  I don’t plan to make a spring collection.  I’m not one for pastels.  Obviously…but will continue to add dresses regularly.  I’m a New York baby, who favors the Fall/Winter/Holiday.

Thank you to everyone that supported Curvysta and had their pom poms ready for us.  If you look at the pics, I was on the verge of crying and had to tighten my lips to keep from balling, that’s how much I appreciated the love.
