“Exclusively Inclusive” with BYRON LARS BEAUTY MARK at KiaStyle360NYFW

Byron Lars of Byron Lars Beauty Mark presented his collection during New York Fashion Week at Kia Style 360.  Mr. Lars goal for the season is to be “exclusively inclusive”.

The runway was culturally diverse and body positive.  Byron Lars featured a variety of Curvy models on the runway and each dress just as fierce as the straight size models. Sommer Green(@Sommerboogie), a Plus/Curvy model, opened the show in a “Gele”, pronounced gaye lay, an African head wrap, wearing a body conscious, multi-patterned dress.  Her silhouette at the start of the runway, set the tone for the entire show.

Mr. Lars embraced ethnicities, shapes, races and sizes.  His presentation was an easy example of what may be done and must be done in all runway shows.  He didn’t tease us with possibilities, he made it happen.

The show included Kristi Castlin(@kristihollywood), Bronze medal winner in Track and Field in the 2016 Olympics in Rio.  She wore a patterned dress of stripes and florals accessorized with her solid bronze medal and track shoes.

Model extraordinaire and Hello Beautiful, style and beauty editor, Danielle James(@TheIslanDiva), walked in the show in her signature converse sneakers.  Mr. Lars was inspired by their last meeting when she wore her converse with a dress and appreciated her laid back, ultra-feminine style.

Celebrities, models and fashion’s finest were all in attendance.  Fern Mallis, Ana Maria Sandegren of Precious7.com, Ashley Dobson, Supermodel Denise BidotBonang, Geneva S. Thomas of Bravo’s “Blood, Sweat & Heels” and many more.

Models seen on the runway were from MSA Models, Major and True Model Management. TMM was the official model management sponsor of Byron Lars Beauty Mark. Jenna Rusnak(@thecurvyrebel), Frankie Tavares(@frankietavares), were just a few of the True Model Management models gracing the runway. As hard as it was to take your eyes off of Byron Lars’ beautifully patterned dresses, Tiannia Barnes, a luxury shoe designer, sponsored the Italian made stilettos featured in the show.  My favorite, the mustard fringe heels. The handmade, couture accessories were created by The Sheila Gray Collection. The best of accessories to compliment the best of NYFW.

Basketball Wives Reunion & Evelyn’s Louboutins!

I’m not a fan of all the women on the Basketball Wives series on VH1, but I must admit I love their style!  The reunion show did not disappoint.  My favorite of the night was Evelyn Lozada.  She may have a potty mouth but the woman has a wardrobe to die for.  Her Herve Leger Gisele Geometric Jacquard Dress, $1950.00 and Pink “Changing of the Guard” Christian Louboutins, $1665.00, with gold accessories… fabulous!  By the way, Curvysta.com has similar shoes for $265.oo.  My second favorite look was Tami Roman.  Her Forever 21 dress looked better than Shaunie’s, by a European designer and about 100% more in dollars, at less than $50.00.  Best shoes of the night goes to Shaunie.

Curvysta Sculpture in HOMEGOODS

Hi Curvystas!

I’m still in need of some furniture pieces in my new place but am trying to avoid overshopping.  I no longer have my own personal garage to hoard things in anymore, now that I’m a city girl.  My go to place is HOMEGOODS, the sister furniture store to Marshall’s/T.J. Maxx.  They have the best selection of decorative items, at an affordable price.  Here are some of my fave pieces that I would’ve purchased without thinking about it, just because I liked them.  Clutter is no longer an option and therefore I have these lovely pictures to hold on to instead.  Check out the Curvysta sculpture!  LOVE IT!  I’m going to try to find a spot for it somewhere in my house.

Curvysta Offspring School Fashions

Hello Curvystas.  It’s been more than a minute since I’ve sat down and posted on anything on the blog.  I’ve moved from Georgia to Virginia this summer and it seems as if I’ve been preparing for it since the beginning of the year.  The best thing about the move is that I am closer to the Tristate and still able to hop on the plane and head south when I need to.  I will be posting pics from NY/D.C./N.J./Virginia/Atl and Cali of course.

Now back to fashion.  If you don’t know, I am Blessed with four girls, ranging from 5-15.  I never planned to have children, but He knows why He does things.  In any case, my love of fashion has definitely passed on to my girls.  They also love to shop for bargains.  My oldest is a huge fan of Loehmann’s, T.J. Maxx and Marshall’s.  Filene’s Basement in NY is a treasure chest for a teen.  She once found an in season, yellow, Marc Jacob’s skirt with matching leggings for less than $75.00.  My three younger ones love anything with sparkles, grommets and zippers.  Just like their Mama (remember my Franco Sarto handbag in an older post!).  They are still very different when they put it all together.  My second child loves to mix and match colors and textures.  The third one is preppier and the baby (she’s five) loves anything that reminds her of Fancy Nancy.

Prints and Grommets….

Let me just say that I am not a fan of prints.  Everyone that knows me thinks I’m in constant mourning because I wear black practically everyday.

This dress has been in my closet for over a year and never worn.  I was about to hit the local clearance racks at TJ and Marshalls and decided to search my closet instead.

That was as hard as giving up my coffee for Lent.  For those that care, I fell off the Lent wagon and drank 8 oz. on Sunday.  I’m going to HELL!

Back to the fashions…..the only way I could wear this dress was with black.  I had a pink blazer and was very close to wearing it and looked like a confused Big Barbie doll.

I get compliments on the handbag every time I wear it.  It brings home the point that sometimes it is worth saving for a larger ticket item.

They last forever.  I bought it about three years ago and it still looks great.  I am a big fan of Francesco Biasia.

Their designs are beautiful, the quality is better than pricier bags and they are practical.

It has a seperate insert that can be removed, almost like a large cosmetic bag.  Very cool!

The next pricey purse I want is the Marc Jacobs, Aidan Satchel in Black.  Are you listening handbag fairies?
